Latzio Celebrates International Women's Day 2023

2023 marks the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day (IWD). Join us in shining a spotlight on the many talented female-led brands, designers, and businesses we work with.

Championing bespoke home furnishings, wall murals and wallpapers, Avalana inspires a sense of wonderment and escapism through her skillfully created original artworks. Each design begins life as a watercolour sketch, hand painted by Avalana herself in her UK-based design studio. With almost a decade of experience in creative industries as an in-house designer and artist, the Avalana brand was born in 2018 from a watercolour set, an Instagram account, and a dream.

Textile designer Josephine Munsey launched her first designs after Covid-19 lockdowns meant plenty of time in her Stroud-based studio. She has worked for various Design Houses, refining her craft with different methods of fabric and wallpaper printing. The brand came to life with her decision to begin designing for herself, with her husband Greg assisting with the daily running of the business.

Munsey's designs come from years of personal sketchbooks, as well as exhibitions, travelling, her mother's collection of ferns, and the woods surrounding her studio. A small section of each design is painted in colour, as a trial, before the whole design is drawn or printed. The finishing touch with computer aided design allows her to create different colourways for each design.

Elizabeth Scarlett is a talented artist and entrepreneur, beginning her career in the fashion and beauty industry and creating her own lifestyle brand. Her high-quality collection of cushions and gifts seek to promote joyful living with a portion of the profits going towards the conservation of keystone species.

Discover the Moody Muse collection from Lauren Dickinson Clarke, with an expressive set of muse-inspired home fragrances and home decor. Clarke was born in a small English town where she fell in love with drawing from an early age, creating an array of imaginative and dreamlike scenarios. She studied Fashion Design and accepted apprenticeships with esteemed fashion houses Mary Katrantzou and Hussein Chalayan, as well as a revered position at Alexander McQueen. Clarke uses with a fine-nib pen to create her eye-catching illustrations from her Notting Hill studio, working for months to perfect home fragrance scents packed with character and attitude.

Welcome to an uncharted land of curious creations, inspired by the myths, legends, and unique beauty of the natural world. Emma J Shipley is a British graphic artist with an extensive collection of homeware and accessories for nature lovers, dreamers, and maximalists. The brand launched at London Fashion Week in 2012 after Emma graduated from the Royal College of Art and has since won business awards, including the WGSN Global Fashion Award for Emerging Brand.

Launched in January 2016, Sara Miller is an award-winning British designer with a colourful and playful approach to design. Miller is widely inspired by her adventures around the globe, from the intricate decorative craftsmanship in the palace of Jaipur to the sensational Sakura cherry blossom in Japan. From her London-based studio, Sara Miller translates these inspirational experiences to produce beautiful collections.
